Six students from various colleges have been selected to participate in the Asian Science Camp(ASC)-2016 scheduled to be held from August 21 to 27, 2016 at J.N. Tata Auditori-um,IISc, Bangalore-560 021, India.
ASC aims at enlightening talented youths through discussions and dialogues with top scholars in the world and promoting international friendship and cooperation among the best young students of the next generation in Asia, Australia and Oceania.
It is inviting Nobel laureates and world class scientists as speakers and devises an interesting program to the participants. The idea of ASC was jointly proposed by Professor Yuan-Tseh Lee, the 1986 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, and Professor Masatoshi Koshiba, the 2002 Nobel Laureate in Physics.
The function would include plenary sessions, round-table discussions, student master dialogues, a creative poster competition, social events and excursion.
The students participating from Nepal are Aashish Poudel, Bishnu Bhatta, Prince Agrawal, Sachin Dangi, Sanskar Raj Maratha and Shrutee Gupta.
Gopal Bhandari is leading the five-member team to the Asian Science Camp 2016 going to be held in India. The previous camps were held at Taipei (2007), Bali (2008), Tsukuba (2009), Mumbai (2010), Daejeon (2011), Jerusalem (2012), Tokyo (2013), Singapore (2014) and Thailand(2016).
